Suta — the Mumbai based ‘mindful lifestyle’ brand, which has made a mark for itself in Mumbai and the online world, has finally come to the city. Located at 10, Sarat Banerjee Road, Suta is the perfect place to shop for your ethnic wear, post which you can also enjoy a coffee and some good food at Wabi Sabi, the café attached to the store. Named after its co-founders, sisters Sujata and Taniya Biswas (Su and Ta), the brand’s essence lies in the way it employs the ancient weaving traditions of India with a contemporary twist, to create products that can be a part of your daily wardrobe. Their bestselling cotton mul saris can be worn at the workplace as well as a casual dinner. Dressing it up with their experimental blouses with a variety of interesting and edgy cuts, and their stunning silver junk jewellery, provides you with the perfect ensemble for the festive season ahead.

“Suta has a strong story behind its inception. Our primary focus has always been to positively impact the lives of the countless artisans who work hard to make sure we can deliver the best products to our customers. The people in Calcutta are very open-minded and eager to experiment with and embrace new things. We have already had a very promising start with the three-day exhibition we recently conducted here at Ganges Art Gallery,” said Sujata Biswas, co-founder, Suta.

“With Pujo coming up soon, our latest collections give people ample options to gear up for the festive season. Firstly, the collection is named ‘Rani’ — for the queen within you. This comprises beautiful organza silk saris paired with blouses of the same material. The next one is ‘Goddess Energy’, which has cotton-zari saris available in a variety of colours. A collection we have launched specifically for Pujo will be released very soon. It is one with a lot of red and white,” said Sujata Biswas.
