There is something cosy about winter weddings. Be it the ease and comfort of dressing up or partying and celebrating the moments without breaking into a sweat. In a sari or lehnga. In wedding favourite hues or flush with the romance of offbeat colours. All of which are on display at Elahe at 23 Ritchie Road. Jayanti Reddy is showcasing her "exquisite detailed embroidery technique that's modern yet keeping our traditional zardozi work as the main inspiration". "We are showcasing a collection inspired by the ocean and its many unique elements, we have layered these inspirations onto our signature silhouette," says Swapna Anumolu of Mishru.
What's a winter wedding must for Astha Narang? "For an Indian winter wedding, a printed or an embroidered peplum or jacket with sharara or a lehnga is something everyone should have. They are comfortable, perfect for the chilly winters and can be accessorised to make it look heavier and lighter according to the occasion," she says. Jayanti picks her "structured blazer paired with a sari and classic kaftan pant set". Swapna's vote goes to "vibrant jewel tones for the evening and pastels in luxe fabrics like silk and velvet for the day".

For an all-time bridal classic, Astha likes a "printed lehnga which is lightweight but dressy enough for the bride to wear to any of her functions". "Complement it with heavy jewellery and a belt and carry it for your larger function or keep it simple with fewer jewels and fun draping and wear it for smaller events," she says.
For Swapna, the "philosophy" is that "a bride should wear something that reflects her personality and essence, something that expresses her nature and taste". Jayanti agrees too. "Each bride has her own unique style, be it a soft dreamy look or a traditional one. I believe it's the overall ensemble that makes it timeless," she signs off.
