A few years ago when I first came across the Samsung Galaxy Book range at Mobile World Congress, the first thought was: “When will it launch in India?” Not just light and well-designed, it had the perfect processor for all heavy-lifting tasks. The South Korean company has made the right move by finally bringing the Galaxy Book2 Series to India because students, the office-going crowd and content creators need machines without compromises, especially in the mid range, though the new series covers a wide price spectrum.
Consider this. Many of us use these three devices — smartphone, tablet and laptop. We usually go for two powerful devices while keeping third budget focussed. For example, an engineering student knows that all the complicated projections can be achieved by logging into the machines at their institutions but that also means, they will purchase a good smartphone and a tablet for interoperability. Or consider a combo of smartphone and laptop. Apple has already managed to achieve this spectrum globally. Samsung has always had the devices but now it’s time to get it to more markets.

It’s a different generation that was saying they want the mobile experience to be simple. Now users want the best camera, battery, processor, design, security… let me stand out,” Sandeep Poswal, general manager and head, new computing business, Samsung, told us a few days ago when we met in Delhi.
The man has a point. Sharing files between devices, using features simultaneously on two devices, app access across a range of devices… everything becomes easier.

The new machines cover quite a range. Galaxy Book2 series and Galaxy Book2 Business are powered by 12th Generation Intel Core processor. Galaxy Book Go is powered by Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform. All of them come in an ultra-portable design. Simply holding the laptop in the hand is a joy.
“A professional might say if I am on a Zoom call on my laptop and having to see the presentation at the same time… I don’t want the same laptop to be occupied and I want this to be my second screen. Options are there. Enter the tablet. Connect via Link to Windows. Or say if there is a call a kid needs to attend, connect that call via your laptop and transfer it to your second screen… the tablet… give it to the kid and he or she can go to the other room. Connectivity is never going to be a problem. There are several use case scenarios. Architects can use it, professional painters can use it,” said Sandeep.
