Actors Richa Sharma and Sean Banerjee were paired opposite each other for the first time in a music video released two years back, titled Tera Mera Rishta. The duo is already ready with their next project, an upcoming music video directed by Soumojit Adak and team. In this video, Richa and Sean will be seen acting out a love story on screen in the backdrop of the song. Ahead of the release of the video, the duo came together for a special Poila Baisakh shoot for t2, sporting a host of festive day styles ranging from traditional to contemporary:

“Keeping the Bengali new year in mind, we created these looks. The kaftan look has been done in an Indo-western manner for attending an evening party on Poila Baisakh. In the second look, we tried a sari with a designer blouse. The look is balanced with a statement jewellery piece. Sean’s first look highlights the crafts of Bengal. We also tried a complete Bangaliana look in the frame featuring red and white outfits. In the last frame, we styled the drape in an atpourey style to keep up with the theme of Poila Baisakh,” said Moumita Naskar Das, who styled the lookbook

One trend is dazzling earrings and elegant chokers that can be worn on any occasion, be it for a day function or evening. The ethereal saath noli haar, smart sleek chik (choker), elegant kaan-pasha, exquisite bala are enjoying a revival, too, this season. The evergreen sleek solitaire look also is a part of the collection. “I look forward to the food on Poila Baisakh as for the rest of the year I am under a strict diet. It is also important for me to spend time with family as that is how a good start always happens. My growing up years were spent in Nainital. My grandmother and mother used to write letters to me on this day and that will always remain as a fond memory of this day. Ideally, I like to wear bright colours on this day. If I have to make a resolution on this Poila Baisakh, I would want to be a good multitasker, “ said Sean Banerjee.

“Poila Baisakh is all about indulging in good food as the new year begins. I eat a lot of sweets, meet my friends and have adda with them. Poila Baisakh comes every year right after my daughter’s birthday. The day always reminds me of that, the best gift I ever got. I look forward to wearing the laal shada sari in atpourey style on this day. I like to keep a positive attitude. So, I think for me the new beginning will be something positive happening in the coming days that will lead to a new beginning,” said Richa Sharma.
