A hangout where one can relive their childhood days and enjoy playing a wide range of board games — Pair A Dice is the newest cafe on the block, spread across a 1,200sqft space with a seating capacity of 60. The first first outlet of the cafe launched in Mumbai in 2017.

“Our USPs are both games and food. In February 2017, Pair A Dice first opened in Mumbai, at Andheri Oshiwara. Our launch in Calcutta saw 200-plus visitors on the first day. Board games help in building memory and cognitive skills. The games are so simple that from one minute to 20 minutes you are good to go with any game from the rack. We help you with all the games so that’s the biggest USP of this place. You don’t have to go through the rule book and then play. Our concept is digital detox, and non-digital entertainment. You have to disconnect from your digital gadgets to connect with each other, that is the essence of this place,” said Garima L Bagrecha, the founder of the cafe, whose brother Gaurav Lunawat and wife Pooja Lunawat handle daily operations at the Calcutta outlet.

The cafe is done up in a pop of colours. Here, you place your order, choose your game and then sit back and enjoy.

Pair a Dice has a bouquet of vegetarian options in cuisines ranging from Mexican, Italian, Asian, Continental, and beverages like shakes, coffee and mocktails. The menu is curated by Garima and her husband Rishav Bagrecha, along with the Calcutta address’s head chef, Ranjit Mondal.
