So far we have seen Samsung ruling the folding phone segment outside China but there’s competition. A slew of folding phones is coming your way.
OnePlus is the latest company to join the club. During its MWC showcasing in Barcelona, the company announced that a foldable phone will arrive in the second half of 2023. OnePlus COO Kinder Liu has told TechCrunch: “It will also be a flagship phone, as with the other top-positioned products in our portfolio. That is the reason why we haven’t released any foldable phones in the past several years. Because we really wanted to release the best one.”

Liu also said that it will offer what OnePlus has always offered — smooth performance and good industrial design. Will it be a fold or a flip? When Liu was asked this question, he pushed his hands together, opening them like a book, confirming that it’s on the lines of the Galaxy Z Fold. Beyond the announcement, nothing has been revealed about the phone.
Meanwhile, Oppo is showcasing its own foldable device, the Find N2 Flip. It takes competition directly to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. It has a clamshell design, allowing the phone to fold down to be a compact form factor that can be carried around. The biggest distinguishing feature is its 3.26-inch cover display (in comparison Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 1.9-inch secondary panel). This means you can use the phone without having to unfold it every time. On the inside, you get a 6.8-inch 1080p OLED panel with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by the Dimensity 9000+ chipset.
