There’s never a dull moment with Nussrat Jahan and Yash Daasguptaa around. He constantly pulling her leg and she delivering a repartee. The lovely duo sit down for a quick chat with t2 post a long Puja special shoot at Taj City Centre New Town.

You wore a wide variety of colours...
Nussrat Jahan: We used a lot of colours this time because people follow fashion trends so much that they forget that festivities are all about being colourful and vibrant.
Yash Daasguptaa: For a change, this time, I also got into Indian wear and they were really comfortable and classy.
Nussrat: I liked the fact he wore sneakers with a simple kurta and that stole the show because while you are pandal-hopping, there’s nothing better than sneakers. I myself like Indian wear a lot. I always wear a sari (during Puja).
Yash: She feels comfortable in saris.
Nupur Kanoi's happy yellow separates are great for a Puja brunch and can take you from afternoon to evening too. Vasundhara Mantri's jewellery accessorises the look perfectly. The eyes are smudged brown and the lips matte. The hair is in soft curls with feminine twists
This Puja must be special because Yash has his debut Hindi film Yaariyan 2 releasing...
Nussrat: I think this is the best gift he could give us as a family. Ebar aar kichhu chaite hoini. As much as it is important for him in his career, it is important for us as well, watching him on the big screen, a national release, a film this big, it makes us all proud as a family. I hope it does well and I feel it will. The songs are doing great.

How are you celebrating?
Nussrat: We are yet to celebrate. He has to give me time.
Yash: I have been travelling. She keeps saying that the airport has become my second home.
Nussrat: It’s been hectic and by the time he is back, he is so tired that you let him be in his own space. We need more time to soak it all in and absorb this whole feeling. All said and done, however, the efforts will not go to waste. He has worked very hard and yes, I have to throw a party for him. I owe him this.

Finally, what is one wish you have this Puja?
Nussrat: While we have fun, we also know that Maa will take away all our worries and stress. I genuinely wish well for all our friends and family. May she make us more strong-willed.
Yash: I think my wish has been granted. My debut Hindi film was released during our biggest festival. Though I wish Maa stayed for a bit longer and not just five days. I think people are going to go all out this year, overcoming the looming fear that has gripped them since Covid. We’ll head for a vacation after the Pujas.
Nussrat: It’s to treat the post-Puja vacuum and sadness.
