Kanika Gupta, who started channelising her entrepreneurial and creative journey by making theme-based fragrant candles and selling them on Instagram since 2018, now has an address in Calcutta. Located on Shakespeare Sarani, the 250sq ft store appeals to the senses with its enchanting aroma and extended repertoire that makes for great home decor picks and gifts. To her luxury handcrafted repertoire, Gupta has added creatively done wooden chopping boards or cheese boards, Mason jars, printed tea kettles and more that can not just elevate a living space and mood but can be picked as great gifting options.

“The best thing about candles is they burn to spread joy in people’s lives. And that is the thing that attracted me to them and egged me to start my entrepreneurial journey. We kept defining and redefining candles because the Indian market is not that receptive to them. Now I have400 designs of candles that range from one inch to 4ft in height and can be customised as well. They are beautifully scented and are like a forever piece as they are designed with the key element of tea lights. I supply pan India and even abroad. Beyond candles, I make handcrafted kettles, chopping and cheese boards, jars and coasters,” said Kanika Gupta,owner, Modern Artistry.
