STYLE SPLASH: Shilpa Sethi (centre), founder and curator of Dapper, the multi-designer menswear store at Woodburn Park, hosted a fun afternoon for her friends where the men dressed up in designer creations that Dapper stocks. Antar-Agni’s Ujjawal Dubey (left) and Ajay Kumar (right) from Mr. Ajay Kumar were among those who dressed them up. “It had been on my mind to host a photoshoot with my friends for a while. With the wedding season around the corner, I chose to call my friends instead of models to help me sport the latest collection at Dapper. For me, my friends are the real models. When people see their friends and people from the city dressed up, it feels more relatable. The idea was to keep the essence of Dapper in mind and get all friends, regardless of their size, to wear the clothes and own the looks. At a multi-designer store one has the advantage to leave with a complete look. We ensured that our models matched their kurtas with accessories from Cosa Nostraa from Delhi and vegan shoes by Baya from Raipur. Some looks were put together by combining kurtas and jackets of two different designers. Such versatility is possible only at well-curated stores with different style options,” smiled Shilpa.

Ajay Kumar found the experience to be fantastic. “Well, first of all, this is something totally new. It’s always the women who get pampered. But, this time, it was all about men. Dressing up flamboyantly, getting photographs clicked, enjoying a few drinks — it was absolutely fantastic. Everything around us was curated to be enjoyed to the fullest,” he said. What are his top tips for festive dressing for men? “Ditch the bundi and go for a bomber jacket with your kurta set to add a contemporary vibe. Coords are still in, so, power play with matching prints and elevate your look. The idea is to layer up to dress up. Add on scarves, brooches and pocket squares,” he smiled.
