There is nothing like reading and summer is the perfect time to catch up on all the classics and, of course, the lesserknown books. While many would seek out ways to chill during the holidays, others prefer to just sit down on their couch and get immersed in a book. If you have a kid who loves reading and likes getting lost in the literary world, we have a reading list that can come in handy.

Besides the list compiled above, you could also introduce your kids to Agatha Christie and the books by Ruskin Bond and Enid Blyton and Indian classics like Treasury of Akbar Birbal, Aesop’s Fables and Panchatantra. We are sure you won’t regret it. “It is essential for children to make reading and reading aloud a fun activity all year long. An extension of this activity is to incorporate the habit of utilising their summer vacations by reading good books. Keeping this in mind, this summer vacation we are offering discounts on a wide and exclusive range of children’s books at our store. For very young children, read-aloud books, well-illustrated and colourful books with relatable content like stories of Panchatantra, Indian epics and fairy tales would be a good read. Middle school kids can read science fiction, fantasy, biographies, classics and mythology whereas high school students can include classics, history books, non-fiction, including biographies, and autobiographical books in their reading list. Their reading should be eclectic so that they are exposed to various writing styles of different authors from around the world,” said Swagat Sengupta, CEO, Oxford Bookstores, about the significance of finding a good book for kids.
