With a brand new year rolling in, the K-Pop industry is all set with its new releases, often termed as ‘comebacks’. From powerhouse artistes to the new fourth-generation idols, 2023 is looking booked and busy for these artistes. Let’s take a look at the most anticipated music that is on its way.

Reason by MONSTA X

Expected release date: January 9

As Monsta X releases more fiery concepts for their upcoming mini album Reason, Monbebe, their fandom, gears up for new music from the group. The group debuted in 2015 from the reality survival program No.Mercy under Starship Entertainment.

Ponytail by Yugyeom of GOT7

Expected release date: January 2

Kim YU-gyeom, popularly known as Yugyeom, is a pop star who debuted as a member of the idol group Got7 under JYP Labels. After years of success as a group, Got7 members are venturing into solo acts for the time being. The edgy concepts that were revealed for the single for sure caused his fans to go into a state of frenzy.

Twinkle Twinkle by ILY:1

Expected release date: January 5

The title track of the first mini album, A Dream of ILY:1, is releasing soon, which will be the official comeback by the group which made its debut in April 2022 under the label of FC ENM. They have already garnered much attention as rookies and are all set to continue doing the same in the coming new year.

Incense by Moonbin and Sanha

Expected release date: January 4

The musical sub unit of the group ASTRO, Moonbin and Sanha are all geared up to release their third mini album Incense as they release their highlight medley for the same. They look ethereal as usual in all their concept promotion photos.

The Name Chapter — Temptation by TXT (Tomorrow by Together)

Expected release date: January 27

Hybe Label’s yet another triumphant boy band, TXT is ready with their comeback, The Name Chapter — Temptation, as the group released their concept teaser on their social media handles. MOA, their fans, are equally ready for the new instalment as the album will follow their previous extended plays The Dream Chapter and The Chaos Chapter.

Comeback by GOT THE BEAT

GOT THE BEAT is a super-group formed by SM Entertainment as the first sub unit of project group Girls On To. The members are from the dynamic groups, Girls’ Generation, Red Velvet and Aespa. After their release Step Back, the group is confirmed to make their first ever comeback in January. The dates are yet to be announced.

OMG by NewJeans

Expected release date: January 2

NewJeans was launched in 2022 by ADOR, a subsidiary of Hybe Corporation, the same company that manages the global sensation BTS. Previously their song Hype Boy was a staggering hit. Even though they are considerably new to the industry their debut has been a roaring success.

Puzzle by SF9

Expected release date: January 9

SF9 who debuted as FNC’s first dance boy band back in 2016, is ready to release their 12th mini album, The Piece of 9, with the title track Puzzle already heading to be an exciting record. The fans eagerly wait to decipher the concept as the group keeps releasing cryptic posters for the album.

Rose Blossom by H1-KEY

Expected release date: January 5

H1-Key is another newly formed group by Grandline Group and Sony Music Korea that is set to come up with their very first mini album, Rose Blossom. Their songs like Athletic Girl and Run have already established their position in the reign of girl groups and has gotten the K-pop lovers ready for their upcoming records.

Ay-Yo by NCT 127

Expected release date: January 30

NCT 127, the second overall unit of boy band NCT, managed by SM Entertainment, is going to release a repackage of their fourth album, Ay-Yo. NCTzen, their fans, are more than elated to revisit the musical magic of their favourite boy band.

Unnamed album by TWICE

Expected release: March

TWICE, the group of starlets of JYP Label, are supposed to release their 12th mini album for which a pre-release English single is to be out this January. Fans all over patiently wait as the dates are yet to be announced.
