Designers WalaWali, Rasbold, Lavanya, Aurno’s and others presented their designs at the ‘Passion for Fashion’ Fashion Week 2021, a pre-Diwali event held at the Ordnance Club on the evening of October 23. The theme of the show was Diwali attire — long dresses, handloom saris, ethnic jackets, festive gowns, long Anarkalis along with handcrafted wooden jewellery and clutches. Models such as Nicola, Ria, Ayesha, Pallavi, Akshita, Debleena, Sumi and others sashayed down the ramp to music, while the emcee for the evening was Saba.
Most of the colours ranged from vibrant yellow, red, pink, orange to neon shades, apt for the festive mood. There were group dance performances on foot-tapping Bollywood numbers. All the fashion sequences were choreographed and curated by Prithviraj Ghosh (inset) who said: “Since it was a theme-based fashion show, so I wanted the models to look natural and classy. The focus was on the outfits and presentation.” t2 brings you glimpses of the evening.
This dance performance drew inspiration from the Caribbean. It also had elements of the Moulin Rouge cabaret with performers donning feather headgear, flared can-can frocks and dancing to salsa steps.
