National fashion retail chain Saundh has made its entry into Kolkata! The fashion brand has opened its 20th outlet in India with their Elgin Road store and they are raring to go with their collection. Spread across 550sq ft, the store is divided into sections and wears a modern-retro approach.

The brand has easy silhouettes with embroideries that doesn’t weigh you down. The collection at the store indulges in nostalgic reminiscences of the past decades and celebrates the stylistic influences of contemporary silhouettes. “Saundh, as a brand, stems from our love for textiles and our vision to create a global label inspired by India. We aim to create a niche where the gap between designer clothing, aesthetics and affordability minimises. Through this collection, we aim to celebrate new beginnings by spreading love and happiness. Our festive collection is a composition of all the art that surrounds us. In this season, the Saundh woman decides to give life, love and herself a chance by embracing the joy of freedom,” said Sarabjeet Saluja, founder CEO of Saundh.

The Telegraph did an exclusive fashion shoot with models Ushoshi Sengupta and Subhamita Banerjee with six outfits from Saundh. Glimpses from the look book...

What: Saundh

Where: 10/4D Elgin Road, (next to Forum)

Timings: 11am-9pm

Pocket pinch: Rs 3,499- 20,000

Ushoshi looked stunning in the purple V-neck crop top and long skirt with a sexy slit. The balloon sleeves and the easy silhouette are ideal for someone who wants to look gorgeous but not wear very heavy clothing.

Subhamita, on the other hand, looked wedding-ready in an aqua foil-printed number in organza. The kalidaar lehnga hemline is printed while the organza butti choli is adorned with matte sequin and bead work. Wear it for any wedding ceremony, in the morning or at night.

Subhamita looked like a pataka in this green printed jacket set and this separates style has been a hit with Bolly beauties (think Ananya Panday, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh) this Diwali!

This long printed green lapelled silk jacket paired with a tunic and straight pants with thread, mirror and sequin work, complements the bright green. A neat updo, bold lips and shoulder dusters and you are good to go!

With a nip in the air and the on-going wedding season, layering up is a great option. We loved this red printed jacket set with a fitted crop top and zuarff pants on Ushoshi.

The ensemble has hand-embroidery, mirror work and a super stylish embellished belt.

The brand’s prints are an ode to the comfort of the familiar with symmetrical patterns of houses, traditional textiles, communal revelries and the geometrical shapes of flowers making their way into the creations.

For the last look, Subhamita and Ushoshi went the red way. An earthy-toned multicoloured long top with layered flaps on the top, with a thin strap on the shoulder, metal hangings and gathers around bust and hem on Ushoshi. Subhamita looked riveting in red in an easy-fit red jumpsuit with a V neckline and side pockets.
