Team Anushandhan recently got together at Tram Deepo to talk about the film, starring Saswata Chatterjee, Payel Sarkar, Priyanka Sarkar, Riddhi Sen, Churni Ganguly. The story follows Indra Chakraborty, a successful global head for a reputed multinational corporate firm in UK.
A cyclone is raging and one evening, Indra meets a family of four who, after initial greetings, asks Indra to play a curious game since they need to spend the night together. This family consists of the owner of the household who is suffering from partial blindness. His wife is Gayatri. Her life is confined to the wheelchair now, suffering from paresis of lower limbs. The wife and husband play the judge and the jailer, respectively. Their son Binayak has been a public prosecutor and a nerd for puzzles, scrabbles and crosswords. Daughter Medha has been a defense attorney, and cook. The game is all about the proceedings in a mock court set up by the family. Indra, who claims himself ‘innocent’, is asked to play the role of the ‘accused’.
“Things gradually take a dark turn as the evening progresses. In the course of the said ‘court game’ in session, Indra’s past comes to light. As the truth about Indra is revealed, the truth about Pinaki’s family also comes out. Gayatri, once a judge in the court, had wrongfully accused a victim of a scam,” says director Kamaleswar Mukherjee. In this eerie atmosphere of the game of guilt, Indra finds himself in a precarious situation, based on his own introspection and confession. The film releases on December 3.
