With the temperature dropping slowly, it’s time to plan your vacation! November and December are officially holiday season and you must look absolutely fly in all your #VacayFits.
If you’re a #BeachBaby and love the sun, sand and the sea, this is the time to get your holiday itinerary sorted. Be it Bali, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand or even Goa, here’s a shopping list for all the fashion must-haves for your tropical getaway.
Swimwear
This is the single most important part of your tropical getaway! Don’t just pack one piece of swimwear — since you’re going to be spending most of your time at the beach, pack at least two sets and preferably of two different styles.
Go for a monokini or add some risque and show off your beach body in a sexy bikini. Look out for bright colours and prints along with added details like tie-ups for some midriff flossing or a one-shoulder neckline!
Summer dress
Since you’ll be flying to a warmer climate, summer dresses are the way to go so pack all your backless and cut-out pieces. This floral print backless dress with a thigh high slit is the epitome of sexy. The florals add to the fun while the halter neck tie-up gives the right oomph!
Wrap top and mini skirt
This ensemble is so versatile. Not only is the tie-dye print on trend but it works as an ensemble to amble around before you head to the water, and as a beach cover up. You can also wear the wrap top with pants or pair a bralette of your choice with a skirt creating three outfits. The ruching tie-up detail on the side of the skirt is another point in the trending box.
Printed co-ord set
There is something that just makes vibrant and bold prints align to the vibe of a tropical beach vacation — they’re fun, quirky and make you feel great. These printed co-ord sets will make picking out an outfit after a night of partying so very easy! Knot the shirt up in front or wear a bikini top underneath and you’re all set.
Beach cover-up
What is the point of a fashion haul for the beach if it doesn’t have a crochet cover-up? Not only does it turn your beach outfit into the perfect brunch ensemble but also has the power to add major #GoddessEnergy your lookbook for the ‘gram.
Slides
Comfy footwear that is suited for balmy days is an absolute essential. Go for slides or flip-flops that are easy to walk in around and that will not collect sand in them while at the beach. Since you’re going to be walking around and exploring your island destination, make sure your shoes don’t give up on you. These slides are a great way to add colour and texture to your fits too.
Kaftan
Easy-breezy and comfy — kaftans are all this and so much more. They act as a great beach cover-up all while being a piece that you can style and wear even to a night of partying at the shack by the beach. Go for cotton kaftans which will make it easier to stay cool in the heat or get a sheer crochet one like this. Don’t forget to wear the brightest of the neons to dazzle in the sun.
Beach hat
This accessory is a must-have at the beach along with sunnies and the sunblock. Go for a flamboyant large hat or go for a personalised one with your name or a phrase. The hat is also a nifty accessory to pose with for that idyllic #VitaminSea Instagram shot!
Beach bag
While carrying a cotton tote bag is a great idea you risk carrying a lot of sand back to your hotel room. Get a back that is much like a basket like this one made from sabai grass. It’s a plastic-free alternative which will stay dry and it looks so chic too!
Beaded jewellery
Beaded accessories are #trending this season! The bohemian vibe of the pieces fits right in with the waterfront destination and can add colour and pop to your fits. Layer them and wear ones with cute charms on them — like seashells or ship anchors, maybe — you are ready!
