For his latest all-season resort wear edit, fashion designer Debarun Mukherjee has been inspired by the famous French Riviera. And hence its pristine beaches, breathtaking views, and enviable yachts formed a part of his Jour et Nuit or Night and Day edit. He also brought into the mix the charming towns and villages of Monaco that are highly regarded for their art and cultural scene. “To design all-season resort wear is something I always dreamt of. The prints are inspired by Nordic folk art, which is distinctly retro and timeless. We have used flowing, easy fabrics like georgette, satin and chiffon with base colours like white, ivory and cream for the day and black for the night. Jour et Nuit as a collection gives the freedom to dress for every celebration that comes your way,” says Debarun.
Flared dresses, tunics, shirt-dresses, tank tops with wide pants, long dresses and deep-neck sheath dresses make up this collection. Men’s summer blazers, wide trousers, sheer printed shirts and kurta are the highlights in menswear. The Telegraph takes a look.
