BASA BY SUMESH is an emotion attached to Mother Earth. Owned by designer Sumesh Agarwal, the label that opened in January 2020, focuses on the beautiful contrast of life and fashion. “BASA means shelter, shelter is a place where one feels safe and comfortable. I want my clients to be secure and feel comfortable every time they visit us. After passing out of NIFT Kolkata in 2015, for five years I worked with various big fashion houses and it helped me gather a lot of knowledge and it was in 2020 when I opened my store when I was ready but the pandemic soon hit us. My collection is an ode to my love for poetry and nature. To break the mundaneness and to explore one’s aesthetic through fashionable luxury clothing. The brand believes in smart cuts with detailing, minimalism and contemporary silhouettes that bring out the most stylish side of the modern man,” said the 30-year-old.

The garments are raw and sublime in nature with certain irregularities that only add to their inherent uniqueness and exclusivity. From easy-breezy silk and linen kurtas to intricately designed sherwanis, the collection has something for every man. Their new collection Vrikshya, inspired by trees, focuses on sharp cuts and drapes. The colour palette varies from pastels to dark shades of tree barks. It caters to the modern man who wants to make a style statement.
