In the chatter around iOS 17 phone features, which is coming this fall, many have overlooked updates that are coming to Apple Music. Some of these features have been on the wishlist for long.

Collaborative Playlists

A most requested feature, Collaborative Playlists makes a lot of sense. After you create a playlist, you can invite friends to add and edit in shared playlist. It will even be possible to add emoji reactions to specific songs.

Crossfade transitions

It’s something that is already available on rival music services but the implementation here is expected to be on point. It allows one to add transitions between songs so the music never stops.

SharePlay for CarPlay

When a bunch of friends or family members are travelling together, everyone jostles for what should play next on the car stereo. Instead of fighting over a phone, use SharePlay, which will allow everyone to easily choose what’s playing. When users are in a car and listening to Apple Music, other trusted iPhone devices will automatically suggest joining the session. Listeners can control the music from their own devices, even if they don’t have an Apple Music subscription.

Camera and Apple Music Sing

A few months ago Apple Music added a karaoke feature called Sing. It gets more impressive with Continuity Camera. With Apple Music Sing and Continuity Camera, users will be able to see themselves onscreen and apply all-new camera filters as they sing along to the lyrics of their favourite songs.

Easily accessible Song Credits

Music fans can easily go through“comprehensive data” about the creators behind a specific track, including their role and what instruments they played.
