Anupam Roy has dropped a new Bengali song, Ga chhunye bolchi, whose music video features Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Angana Roy. The song revolves around friendship and Puja prem, and the video depicts a girl and boy played by Angana and Rwitobroto who are friends and then the boy slowly starts developing feelings for the girl, who reciprocates later on. The video also features Anupam Roy singing the romantic song. Produced by Saregama, the song is composed, sung and written by Anupam.

Ga chhunye bolchi being the hook line is something which we all have told someone at some point in our life or maybe still do. I wrote this song around 2013-2014. I felt it was the right time to release it this Puja,” says Anupam.

“I’m so happy to have collaborated with Anupamda on this wonderful song. Our lovely bonding off the screen finally turned out great on screen! I’ve been a huge admirer of Angana since Tansener Tanpura (on Hoichoi). So it was a perfect fanboy moment for me to work alongside her,” said Rwitobroto. “I’m extremely elated to be a part of this music video. There are many obvious reasons. One is, this is the first time I’m working with Anupamda and I’ve been an admirer of his work for the longest time; I got to meet Amyt Datta. Rwitobroto happens to be a dear friend of mine and this is also the first time we are working together,” said Angana.

Saregama and Anupam are releasing four songs of different genres throughout the year. The first song, Putul aami dropped on Valentine’s Day and the second song Darun released recently.

Darun’s concept is about unattainable love. The video showcases the protagonist and his team entering an antique house where they come across a photograph of a beautiful woman. As the video proceeds further, Anupam goes into a trance-like dreamy mode where he is seen imagining the mysterious, surreal woman from the photograph.

In the end, as he continues to seek the lady, he is jolted back to reality from the magical experience with the realisation that the woman is just a mirage or an image that is in front of him and not real, alluding to unattainable love and longing for the same.
