The 1,000sq ft store is sprawling and pretty, done up in simple white and pastel pink to highlight the colourful display of the outfits. The glass window on one side gives a view of the greenery of the extended outdoor sitting section. The display is divided into two sections — Aarya’s ethnic occasionwear and Pranati Kejriwall’s western wear. A touch of greenery through planters and nature elements add to the appealing look.

Pranati Kejriwall & Aarya on Sarat Bose Road, the newly opened aesthetically pleasing and exquisite fashion den for women, brings together two labels under the same roof — the 27-year-old Aarya and the two-year-old Pranati Kejriwall.

Started by sister duo Nupur Jalan and Neeti Mittal 27 years ago, Aarya offers Indian ethnic occasionwear and evening wear. Continuing the legacy, Nupur’s daughter, Pranati Kejriwall’s label Pranati Kejriwall offers a wide-ranging collection of western wear. Shifting from their Camac Street address, the two labels together at their new Sarat Bose Road address make it a perfect one-stop shop for traditional to contemporary occasion wear for women. “The design aesthetic of my label is an extension of my aesthetic sensibility — something feminine, empowering and western. Draping is my forte. I have combined that with trendy design detailing like ruffles and asymmetrical cuts to create silhouettes that are feminine and naturally flattering to the body. Contemporary in design yet timeless and wearable, my collection mostly features neutral tones that are not a one-time wear,” said Pranati, who studied fashion at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore and London College of Fashion. “The USP of the label is the silhouettes. We use luxury fabrics like silk organza and silk crepe and customise the outfits according to body type and occasion. The pret range available at our store and other multi-designer stores ranges from casual to formal and occasionwear. The occasionwear couture range is exclusively available at the store. With people willing to experiment, my clientele has expanded over the years. The new address is conveniently accessible from many parts of the city and is decorated for a relaxed shopping experience,” added Pranati on her label Pranati Kejriwall (centre).

“Aarya is not into heavy occasionwear, our style sensibility is lightwear, elegant and timeless. Rooted to Indian culture yet with a contemporary appeal, the pieces are timeless and inspired from nature. Our present couture collection Gulab Bagh and pret collection Rosabel are inspired from rose. Using various traditional fabrics and styles like bandhej and leheria, we create contemporary silhouettes for women of all age groups,” said Nupur (left) and Neeti.
