Bridal wear boutique Kalighata recently celebrated the launch of their winter wedding collection Zardoz, with a showcase of their designs on brides-to-be, at their flagship store on Elgin Road. Twenty-one young ladies, who are prepping for their wedding this winter, got together at the boutique and sashayed down in their bridalwear that reflected the latest trends in bridal couture.
The Zardoz bridal range celebrates karigari and combines it with modern silhouettes and cuts. The looks were accessorised with diamond and polki jewellery from Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons.

D-day. It’s detailed, dreamy and blingy. We have tried to bring the best of craftsmanship of Bengal. Kolkata artisans are specially skilled and known for their karigari and this is our small endeavour to sustain this community. We have used a lot of salmas, dabkas, bullions on pastel shades, keeping the colour tones aesthetic yet the glamour quotient high. Be it the Sangeet, reception or cocktails, we have got you covered,” said Ritesh Kamani of Kalighata. Snapshots.
Designer couple Shruti and Ritesh Kamani, the brains behind the show. “The idea was to get a pre-bridal experience for the brides-to-be, so they could experiment with colours, look and style and decide exactly what their bridal look will be on the real day. Walking in their bridal wear with make-up and jewellery would give them a real feel of what would be expected of them on their wedding day, so they can go about it in a relaxed, confident, manner,” said Shruti Kamani.
