Arunima and Megha are completely different. From her body language to her calm and quiet demeanour. Which is why it was really challenging for me to portray the character. Megha is subdued, calm... she keeps her feelings bottled up. She is honest, firm and unpredictable. I speak a lot while Megha is so calm and quiet. So people found my character to be very interesting.

What makes your performance stand out?

When a person is mired in sadness, and the situation also doesn’t help, then that sadness leads to silence and that person becomes expressionless. It is difficult to figure out if that person is happy or unhappy. I have managed to achieve that in my portrayal. That’s why I said she is unpredictable, at times she doesn’t give the necessary reactions. Maybe someone has insulted her but she doesn’t react. She is nice, kind. She has various shades.

How was your shooting experience?

Ayan (Chakraborty) is a very cool director, he is very focused. I had a lovely time working with him. Apuda (Saswata Chatterjee) is a brilliant actor and unpredictable also. Deepak kaku (Chiranjeet) is like an institution. We can learn a lot from him. For a scene, I was saying my line in a certain way. He asked me to try it out in another way, and the result was very interesting. It was a great experience working with them.

Are you a fan of detective fiction?

I just love watching thrillers. If I am shooting outdoors, and I don’t have a nice thriller to watch, I’ll watch Crime Patrol. People tease me by saying that I should have been a criminal lawyer! And I got to act in thrillers like Shabor and Kiriti. And now, here’s Shororipu 2.

I always like to try out different characters. People have loved my performance in Shororipu 2, and for an actor it is one of the biggest takeaways when the audience praises you for your work.

Would you be doing more films next year?

I have a lot of new things planned. I’ll start shooting from December. I’ll start work on a political film, around January-February. Talks are on for a thriller which I’ll do next year. I am looking forward to doing some nice films next year. I set a target for myself — even if I do three films a year, they should be very different.

Do you think of doing television once again?

I’d like to do television, if I get a nice project. I’d recently got an offer for a fiction show but I couldn’t give such a huge chunk of dates. It is a big responsibility. I want to concentrate on movies. I’d definitely like to do non-fiction.

What’s next?

I would like to star in a children’s film. I have been a part of many thrillers but I would like to do a love story now.
