Company Five Squad in Crash Landing on You

The Company Five North Korean soldiers in Crash Landing On You are one of the most remarkable elements from the drama. Keum Eun-dong (Tang Jun-sang), Kim Ju-meok (Yoo Soo-bin), Park Kwang-beom (Lee Shin-young), and Pyo Chi-su (Yang Kyung-won) make up Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok’s most trusted comrades. They might have taken time to warm up to Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), but they ultimately stuck by her till the end. From the youngest Eun-dong to the grumpy Chi-su and K-drama addict Ju-meok, their various antics, especially when they come to South Korea, are an integral and fun part of the drama.

Fantastic Four Squad in Fight For My Way

Fight For My Way is a heartfelt and motivating tale of aspirations and the drive and desire to follow one’s dream. The drama follows childhood friends Ko Dong-man (Park Seo-joon), Choi Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won), Kim Joo-man (Ahn Jae-hong), and Baek Seol-hee (Song Ha-yoon) as they navigate adulthood and try to find the balance between their dreams and the reality that they have to face. While Seol-hee and Jae-hong are ina committed relationship, Dong-man and Ae-ra navigate their feelings for each other in the drama.

Ssangmundong Squad in Reply 1988

The Ssangmundeong Squad are childhood friends in a bustling and colourful neighbourhood, Ssangmundeong that is almost remnant of the old paras in Bengal. The happy-go-lucky Sung Deok-sun (Lee Hye-ri), the good boy Sung Sun-woo (Go Kyung-pyo), the dorky Ryu Dong-ryong (Lee Dong-hwi), the soccer enthusiast Kim Jung-hwan (Ryu Joon-yeol), and the quite genius baduk player Choi Taek (Park Bo-gum) form an adorable bunch of friends who navigate the trials of love and growing up among other things.

Cafe Danbam Squad in Itaewon Class

The group at Cafe Danbam is an odd one for sure. They have ex-convicts and rich kids, temper issues and family ones, all at once. But they are certainly a diverse bunch of people who might have been from different walks of life, but work hard to establish Cafe Danbam. Lee Joo-young’s portrayal of Hyeon-yi, a transgender woman who comes to terms with her identity and Chris Lyon’s portrayal of Kim To-ni, showing the realities of black people in South Korea, were touching and memorable.

Swag Squad in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo

Kim Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) and her friends Seon-ok (Lee Joo-young) and Nan-hee (Ch Hye-jung) definitely make for the coolest girlfriend squad. Whether it is grabbing beer on the rooftop, teaching juniors on the rules of eating, standing up to bullies or comforting each other, these girls always have each other’s backs. This group gets their name from their habit of saying “swag” after pulling off what are undoubtedly, very cool moves.

Samsan Tech Trio in Start-Up

Start-Up has a host of memorable characters (how can we ever forget the dashing Kim Seon-ho’s Han Ji-pyeong) but this friend trio is absolutely adorable. They might be eccentric and low-key silly, but they are undoubtedly intelligent and passionate in their craft and eventually, they get the worthy recognition for it. However, what is admirable is that Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk), Yong-san (Kim Do-hwan) and Chul-san (Yoo Su-bin) never forget their roots. Samsan is the name of the tech company they had started together and corresponds to sam (three in Korean) and san (mountain in Korean and also the common factor in their names).

Mido and Falasol in Hospital Playlist

This squad is #goals! Friends for almost 20 years, this group of five doctors from Hospital Playlist are the ultimate dream squad. Watching them is relieving because one gets assured that it does not matter how old you get, true friends will always have your back and you can jam (quite literally) with them anytime. The name of their music band, Mido and Falasol, is inspired by the musical notes, Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do and coincidentally, Mi-do is also the name of Chae Song-hwa’s actor, Jeon Mi-do.

Na Hee-do and Friends in Twenty-Five Twenty-One

Regardless of the romantic relationships and how they eventually turned out, this group of friends were a refreshing and unforgettable bunch. Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) and Ko Yu-rim (Bona from WJSN) may have had a rocky start but their respect and support for each other made them an adorable pair. The group’s beach trip in summer is as memorable to viewers as it is to them, steeped in nostalgia and fun.

The Girlfriends in Be Melodramatic

Living together with friends might not be easy especially when you are 30-something with a professional life and children. But these three friends show us how cherishing it can be. Lim Jin-joo (Chun Woo-hee), Lee Eun-jung (Jeon Yeo-bin) and Hwang Han-joo (Lee Ji-eun) each have deeply complicated lives that intertwine past and present. However, when they all sit for dinner at night at their shared dining table and let their hearts out, it’s reassuring to see how dependable friendships go a long way.

Bae Ta-mi, Cha Hyeon and Song Ga-kyeong in Search: WWW

Search: WWW focuses on a ruthless world but this unlikely alliance and eventual friendship between the three leads was definitely the highlight of the drama. The series itself shows how female companionship can lead to a powerful pact, especially in the face of oppressive forces. The support these three have for each other is often subtle but impactful, strengthening their bond.
