The Telegraph checked out Chai Break’s new outlet on Girish Park

On the menu is pure vegetarian food picks from Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine

Chai Break, the popular hangout, opened doors to their new vegetarian café on Girish Park recently, the 28th outlet of the chain. Pocket-friendly yet delectable is the mantra here, catering to a large student population in the area. The interiors are fresh and modern with a colour palette of whites and greens and have minimalistic furniture. There’s a lot of natural light coming in through the huge windows and is dotted with cosy corners.

On the menu is pure vegetarian food. Pick from Indian, Chinese and continental. They are also serving a breakfast menu which includes Kolkata’s famous Sabzi Kachori and continental breakfast items too.

Timings: 8am - 11pm

Meal for two: Rs 800-plus

Try this fresh Corn Salt and Pepper made with double fried crispy American corn mixed with fresh bell peppers, onions and salt and pepper.

Kolkata style Sabzi Kachori from the breakfast menu, served with achaar. This one is a winner, for sure.

Creamy Spaghetti comes in Pesto Sauce and with basil, Parmesan, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

Café Irish, a three-layer coffee made with Irish syrup, steamed milk and espresso, is served lukewarm.

“Girish Park is dotted with coaching institutes for finance students. There are hardly any good cafes and hangouts in the near vicinity for families. Hence, for our 28th outlet, Girish Park was an obvious fit. We are serving pure vegetarian Indian, Chinese and continental menu here from breakfast starting at 8am to dinner,” said Aditya Ladsaria (left) and Anirudh Poddar, co-owners.
