Keeping the popularity of Warehouse Cafe at South City Mall, franchisees Amit and Vanita Bajoria (inset) have recently rolled out The Grand Brunch every Sunday. “The brunch menu is a culinary extravaganza that offers an array of mouth-watering dishes to satiate the diverse tastes of our patrons. Guests are greeted with an extensive selection of delectable options, making their brunch experience truly unforgettable. There are appetizers, including our signature soup of the day, and a delightful live salad bar with six unique salad options. For those seeking an exotic touch, our Arabic Mezze & Indian platter is a delight. Then there’s Gol Gappa station, our Make-Your-Own Pizza station allows a personalized pizza experience. Dim sums, sushi, main course, desserts... it’s a real Sunday feast for our guests at a very affordable rate,” said Vanita and Amit.

Warehouse Cafe recently completed one year. What do you attribute the success to?
It can be attributed to a combination of factors that strongly resonate with our diverse and vibrant audience. Our main target demographic includes the upcoming youth aged around 25 and extends to office-goers and corporate professionals up to the age of 45. The unique concept of blending a traditional warehouse ambience with contemporary glamour vibes has captivated individuals from different age groups. The aesthetic setup appeals to the refined tastes of our patrons, ensuring a delightful experience for everyone. The strategic location of Warehouse Cafe in South City Mall, coupled with effective marketing efforts, has allowed us to connect with this diverse audience, to enjoy our live performances by proficient artists and a lively nightlife that perfectly aligns with their preferences.
Warehouse Cafe always seems packed! Tell us about the guest profile.
The guest profile at Warehouse Cafe is incredibly diverse. We welcome a myriad of personalities, each adding a unique avatar to the lively ambience of our space. During the day young professionals seek a delightful escape from their busy workdays. As the sun sets, a new avatar emerges - the energetic nightlife enthusiasts, ready to immerse themselves in the beat of music and the thrill of the Warehouse experience.
What prompted you to launch the Sunday brunch when most of your neighbouring outlets don’t have one?
It was prompted by our keen observation of a growing trend and demand for this weekend ritual in the city. We saw an opportunity to offer our patrons something truly special and elevate their weekend experiences to new heights. While most neighbouring outlets have not yet tapped into the Sunday brunch concept, we embraced the idea of becoming pioneers in the local dining scene. Sunday brunches hold a unique charm, providing a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere that allows guests to unwind and indulge in delectable food and drinks. Moreover, we take pride in presenting some exclusive dishes that are specially curated for the Sunday brunch, elevating the experience beyond what guests may find at other establishments. The experience is amped with live music too.
You have two other outlets, Veneto and Lord of the Drinks Kolkata, which are equally popular. What is the strategy to ensure your three outlets don’t fight for the same crowd?
Each outlet has a distinct theme, ambience, and cuisine to attract specific target audiences. While Veneto specializes in Italian cuisine, offering an intimate and upscale dining experience, Warehouse Cafe provides a more energetic and lively atmosphere with a diverse menu of global cuisines. Lord of the Drinks caters to a more vibrant nightlife scene with a focus on innovative cocktails and a fusion menu. By offering unique experiences, we ensure that our three outlets complement each other and cater to different segments of the market, minimizing any potential overlap.
Between the three outlets, which outlet broke even the fastest?
We have been blessed and grateful to receive so much love from our guests that all our outlets --- Lord of the Drinks, Veneto and Warehouse Cafe --- broke even very fast. But if we have to pick one, it would be Warehouse Cafe. It surpassed every expectation in the fastest way!
We have heard of some expansion plans, tell us what’s next.
As a brand deeply dedicated to enhancing the F&B scene in the city, we are constantly on the lookout for exciting opportunities to bring new and innovative concepts to life. As we move forward on this culinary journey, we remain committed to staying true to our core values of exceptional quality, vibrant ambience, and a commitment to offering memorable moments to all who step into our establishments. We can’t wait to unveil what’s next in our pursuit of contributing to the ever-evolving F&B landscape in the city.
