Reevu Wangdi and Pravakar Yonzone can quite easily be identified as the momo and bar bosses of the city with their baby Momo I Am completing 10 years with multiple outlets across the city.
Over the years, they have been introducing Japanese faves such as sushi as well as dim sums to the regular Momo I Am menu across certain outlets and the response has been phenomenal. Keeping this response in mind, from the house of Momo I Am comes Soy Yum, a quintessential sushi and dim sum cloud kitchen delivering delectable Japanese treats from three locations in the city —Chinar Park, Gol Park and Salt Lake.
“Soy Yum aims to bring the so-called exquisite Japanese dishes such as sushi and ramen to the masses. Sticking to authenticity and at the same time catering to the local palate, we try to bring a flavourful combination. Topped with craft dim sums too, we aim to offer this fare so far associated with the city’s fine-dining scene to the masses,” said Reevu and Pravakar, co-owners, Momo I Am and SoyYum.
The Telegraph ordered in a few specials and here’s bringing you our faves.
Miso Ramen (Pork): This is a hearty bowl for pork lovers. It also comes in a chicken variant. The umami miso- flavoured broth is a bomb of umami taste. The soft-boiled eggs add a creamy taste to the dish.
Crunchy Tuna Maki: One of the most famous is this fresh tuna sushi that is soft and fleshy on the inside and has a wonderful crunch to it. We love the pops of caviar on top.
Thai Basil Chicken Dim Sum: These dim sums pack in the fresh aroma of Thai basil, a speciality in Thailand. Paired with minced chicken, this filling is a stellar combination.
Teriyaki Chicken Avocado Sushi: A classic combination of a myriad of Japanese flavours. The juicy and tender teriyaki sauce-laced chicken balances out the sushi rice. We love the creamy avocado on top.
