Wykiki, the Asian dine den at Taj City Centre New Town, is serving some 'Steaming Delights' and we decided to check it out. There are more than just dim sums on this menu. The menu highlights small plated light hors d’oeuvres or appetisers which are generally steamed with a unique blend of ingredients and served in bamboo baskets. The menu has been thoughtfully crafted to enhance the flavours of each country with a Wykiki twist.
Here's getting you the deets of the festival that is on till April 2.
Truffle Edamame Dim Sums: A Japanese stellar dim sum, that is also top-notch when it comes to flavour. Edamame is a Japanese staple and when mixed with the umami tartness of truffle and cheese, creates a decadent bite
Corn Water Chestnut Flower Dumpling: These dumplings borrow the popular water chestnut from Thai cuisine, and combine it with corn for a crunchy filling. We love the floral pattern of moulding the dumpling.
Himalayan Momo: How can a dim sum festival be complete without some good old juicy Tibetan-style momos, served with spicy chilli dip on the side?! We love this closer-to-home classic.
Taunggyi Seafood Dumpling: A delish inspiration from Myanmar, these seafood-filled dumplings have a strong crustacean flavour, and we totally dig how #Instagrammable they look
“Steaming Delights chronicles the incredible, edible map of different regions of Far East countries. These are little plates of joy crafted with traditional techniques seamlessly blended with modern twists influenced by trends across the world. Enjoy the forthcoming onslaught of steaming delights with a warm pot of jasmine tea at Wykiki,” said Subrata Debnath, executive chef, Taj City Centre New Town.
