The Oberoi Grand celebrated the onset of the merry season with a cake-mixing ceremony on November 3 at their Gharana ballroom. The ballroom was filled with the aroma of rum and cinnamon as the guests mixed dry fruits and nuts with the tipple. This age-old tradition is followed in various hotels and F&B spots in the city to use the rum-soaked fruits to make yummy plum cakes in the Christmas season. Guests from various walks of life such as Richa Sharma, Indrani Paul, Mariam Zaki, Shilpi Chaudhury and others got their hands dirty at the cake mixing. Here are some snapshots from the event.

“The celebrations are just hitting a crescendo, as we warm up to everybody’s favourite month, December. I am elated to ring in the festivities at The Oberoi Grand with our most valued guests. Cake mixing, the age-old Christmas tradition, marks the beginning of the joyful season that we all so eagerly wait for,” said Mayan Dhawan, general manager of The Oberoi Grand.
