La Artisan, the Santorini-themed bistro in New Town, is all set to launch a host of new flavourful delights that encompass specialties from the Mediterranean region. The new menu is inspired by consulting chef Asavari B’s latest one-year-long stint in Spain.
The Telegraph checked out the menu and here’s bringing you some of the dishes that we loved.
What: New menu and baked goodies
Where: La Artisan Bistro
Timings: Noon to midnight
Meal for two: Rs 1,500-plus without alcohol, Rs 2,000-plus with alcohol
Apple of Eden: The most Instagram-worthy dish on the menu is this deconstructed apple pie that’s in the style of an entremet and resembles a fresh apple on a bed of chocolate soil. We loved the visual drama of this one.
Lemon Ricotta Basil Honey Toast: A must-try item on the menu is the freshness bomb that has inhouse sourdough slices slathered with ricotta and lemon and drizzled with honey to balance out the lemons. It’s like taking a walk down Positano.
Veg Mexican Burger: This loaded burger has a bean and vegetable patty with hung curd in the centre that adds some extra softness and creaminess to the patty
Mushroom Mille Feuille: A umami spin on the classic dessert, here we have mushrooms, mushroom cream, Parmesan and onions laced with tomato paste between layers of phyllo pastry. A great balance of flavours and textures.
Brown Butter Braised Fish: Bhekti fish is cooked in a brown butter sauce and served with a relish pea purée and some leek cream. We love the texture of the cream.
Tres leches Poached Pear: The classic Mexican dessert gets a kick of wine with the pears that are poached in red wine and served on top of this comforting milk cake.
