To many more shots please because it’s National Tequila Day (July 24). Made from blue agave, this fruity, sweet and earthy tipple is the national drink of Mexico that derives its name from a town called Tequila in Mexico’s western state of Jalisco. A day has been set aside each year to celebrate the liquor which has lent its name and flavour to some of the best-loved cocktails like the Tequila Sunrise, Margarita and Long Island Iced Tea, to name a few. National Tequila Day was first celebrated in 2018 in USA and Mexico with a number of tequila festivals and tours of tequila distilleries which is called a tequila trail in Jalisco, Mexico.
