Raj Barir Fish Fry
Inspired by Bengal’s heritage Sovabazar Rajbari, this Uttam Kumar-Suchitra Sen themed restaurant has introduced a special menu for the Bengali New Year. Savour the thali, which comes in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions and includes dishes like Raj Darbari Vetki, Sutanutir Bata Masala Mangsho, Lal Morich Murgi, Dal Rajnandini, Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Gachh Pathar Kalia, Chingri Malai Curry, Chutney, Papad and desserts. There is also an ilish thali available at extra cost. The dishes are also a part of their buffet menu, which is available at their Behala and Salt Lake outlets, while the thali is available across all outlets in the city.

The only Bengali restaurant on Park Street is all set for Boisakhi Borsho Boron. To celebrate Nabo Borsho, the restaurant has a range of Bengal’s flavours in a set thali and in their a la carte menu. The thali consists of items like Gandharaj Ghol, Narkeli Mug Dal, Saak Bhaja, Topse Fry, Chingri-stuffed Potol Posto, Bhetki Paturi, Mutton Kasha, Aam er chutney, Papad, and Aam Doi to name a few. Sonar Tori at City Centre brings an eclectic mix of Bengali dishes in its flavourful vegetarian, non-vegetarian and children’s thalis. Doi Beler Shorbot, Lote Macher Phuchka, Basanti Pulao, Railway Mutton Curry, Chana Mourir Kofta, Kancha Lonka Chanar Tikka and Belphuler Rosogolla are a few of the dishes that are part of the thalis. This restaurant, which just turned two earlier this month, is continuing the celebrations with a special Poila Baisakh thali. Bengali classics like Chingrir Chop, Macher Matha Diye Daal, Sorshe Patol, Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Dhakai Pora Mangsho, along with sweets like Indrani, Kalojam and more feature in their Nabo Borsho special thali. The menu has been specially curated to usher in the Bengali New Year and celebrate the day with their friends and families without the worry of cooking at home.

The thali at Babu Culture
Babu Culture is all set to welcome guests for the New Year celebrations with its specially curated thalis. Their vegetarian thali features items like Mochar Malai Chop, Potol Kalojeere Bata, Luchi, Aamshattyo Kancha Lanka Polao, Phoolkopi Aam Kashundi, with Rajbhog and other sweets for dessert. The non-vegetarian thali has dishes like Moshla Fish Fry (Bhetki), Borishali Murgi Bata, Babu Barir Khaash Kosha Mangsho, to name a few. Aaheli, has been a popular name for Bengali food in the city since 1993. They are celebrating three decades in the business with the Tin Doshoker Aaheliyana menu.
