Hard deenks, anyone? What better way to elevate your Diwali parties than by shaking up some delightful cocktails right in the comfort of your home? My Kolkata got in touch with Pratik Pangle, cluster beverage manager for the west region, Impresario, to help us give our guests a pataka of a time… minus the crackers, of course.

Apple Pie Martini

Ingredients

  • Apple and cinnamon infused Smirnoff: 60 ml
  • Apple juice: 30ml
  • Lime: one wedge

Method

It’s apple pie but in a martini! This fancy drink only needs three ingredients and is easy to make, especially during the Diwali revelry. First, you need to infuse your vodka with apple slices and cinnamon sticks for 24 hours and store it in a warm place like your kitchen. Then all the cocktail needs is a large peg of apple and cinnamon-infused Smirnoff shaken with some apple juice and lime. Serve in a martini glass to make it look fancy!

Sparkling Blonde

Ingredients

  • Johnnie Walker Blonde: 60ml
  • Peach syrup (preferably Monin): 10ml
  • Thyme: Two stems
  • Orange wedges
  • Carbonated water to top up

Method

This concoction is a mix of J W Blonde scotch, with peach syrup and some thyme. After mixing for a bit to allow the flavour of the thyme to come out, it can be served in a high glass topped with carbonated water and lots of ice. Garnish the drink with orange wedges and thyme.

Cuban Sour

Ingredients

  • Dark rum: 60ml
  • Pineapple juice: 45ml
  • Lime juice: 15ml

Method

Well, the season of drinking dark rum is arriving so why not kick things off with an easy, festive cocktail? Shake some dark rum, pineapple juice and lime juice in a shaker. Once you’re satisfied, pour it in an old-fashioned glass and top it off with a dehydrated orange. You can also replace the dehydrated orange with a sliver of the fruit to make things look pretty!
