Come winter and all you crave for is some hot and spicy food to get you warmed up. One pot meals are the saviours, especially when you do not want to order in but still want to savour something delicious. These five recipes are zero hassle and only demand a big bowl and the right ingredients. Try these now!

A spicy fish recipe with zero or minimum oil.

Ingredients:

● Trout: 2

● Sriracha sauce: 4 tablespoons

● Roasted tomato paste: 3 tablespoons

● Roasted blackpepper, roasted dry whole red chilli and lemon juice paste (1 teaspoon+2 pieces+3 tablespoons): 3 tablespoons

● Garlic paste: 2 tablespoons

● Green chilli paste: 1 teaspoon

● Mustard oil: 2 teaspoons

● Lemon juice: 2-3 tablespoons

● Chaat masala: 1 teaspoon

● Salt

Recipe:

● Marinate the fish with all the ingredients including mustard oil. Place it in a covered container

● Add enough water in a kadhai to half dip the container in which the fish is

● Place the container at the centre of the kadhai and cover

● Keep the flame low and steam for 10-12 minutes

● Uncover, add lemon juice and chaat masala on each side and dig in piping hot

● You can try this recipe with any fish of your choice

A one-pot chicken dish to keep you warm this winter.

Ingredients:

● Chicken legs: 5-6 pieces

● Finely chopped ginger: 1 teaspoon

● Bok choy: 8-10 pieces

● Sliced potatoes: 8-10 pieces

● Finely chopped green chillies: 2-3

● Black pepper powder: 2 teaspoons

● Whole black peppercorns: 1 teaspoon

● Whole green chillies: 2

● Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons

● Lemon zest: 1 teaspoon

● Melted butter: 2 tablespoons

● Salt

Recipe:

● Put chicken legs, chopped ginger and green chillies, sliced potatoes, whole black peppercorns, whole green chillies, lemon juice and butter with salt in a pressure cooker

● Cook on medium flame with 3-4 whistles

● Unlid, check seasoning and add the bok choys. Cook for 2-3 minutes without any cover and turn off the flame

● Add black pepper powder, lemon zest and your soupy wonder is ready

Ingredients:

● Crabs: 3-4

● Garlic paste: 2 teaspoons

● Green chilli paste: 2 teaspoons

● Blackpepper powder: 2 teaspoons

● Diced onions: 2 large

● Diced tomatoes: 2 large

● Diced carrot: 1

● Diced broccoli: 1 small cup

● Beans cut into medium sizes: 1 small cup

● Spring onions cut into medium sizes: 1 small cup

● Slit green chillies: 3-4

● Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons

● Butter: 2-3 tablespoons

● Salt

Recipe:

● Marinate the crabs with the ginger and green chilli pastes

● Place the crabs and the veggies in a pressure cooker with butter, salt and black pepper powder. Add water

● Cover and cook on low flame for 1 whistle. Let the steam evaporate before taking off the whistle and the lid

● Check seasoning, add lemon juice, sprinkle some more black pepper powder and the the easy crab soup is ready.

A perfect way to celebrate winter, especially if you have some artisanal sausages.

Ingredients:

● Artisanal pork sausages: 200gm

● Tomatoes cut into halves: 3

● Onions cut into halves: 2

● Chopped green chillies: 3-4

● Roasted black pepper powder: 2 teaspoons

● Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons

● Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon

● Rock salt

Recipe:

● Put all the ingredients in a container with a lid that fits into a pressure cooker

● Add water in a pressure cooker to half submerge the container

● Heat the water well

● Now place the container and add the lid of the cooker

● Keep the flame low and cook for 2 whistles

● Unlid once the steam has evaporated, check seasoning, add some extra lemon juice and black pepper powder and enjoy

Fancy can be easy too — and this recipe is proof.

Ingredients:

● Shrimp paste: 1 large cup

● Finely chopped onion: 1 large

● Finely chopped tomato: 1 medium

● Finely chopped green chillies: 3-4

● Finely chopped coriander leaves: 2-3 tablespoons

● Beaten eggs: 3

● Roasted black pepper powder: 1 teaspoon

● Melted mutter: 3 tablespoons

● Salt

Recipe:

● Grease a cake mould with butter

● Take the shrimp paste and the chopped onion, tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves in a mixing bowl. Add salt and black pepper powder and mix well

● Pour the shrimp paste in the tiffin box and make an even layer

● Now beat the egg with a pinch of salt and and pour over the shrimp paste

● Sprinkle some butter

● Add enough water to dip half of the cake mould

● Place a loose cover on the top and let it steam cook for 6-8 minutes

● Don’t forget to periodically check on the water, and replenish on evaporation

● Dip a toothpick to make a quick check

● Sprinkle some black pepper powder, cut into pieces and dig in
