Hiiraan’s, a unit of Byepass Dhaba, opens its new and affordable patisserie and bistro and we indulged in some delish freshly baked desserts and savouries. Situated just beside the Byepass Dhaba at Canal S Road, the air at the café was heavy with the delightful aroma of fresh bakes when we walked in. Mouth-watering desserts like Rainbow Pastry, Chocolate Double Truffle Pastry, Mousse jars, handmade chocolates, tarts and more, are the mainstay of the menu. The highlight of Hiiraan’s Patisserie and Bistro however is the Middle Eastern delight baklava that’s made live here. So, Kolkata now has the option of indulging in the fresh decadant filo pastry dessert over the preserved ones. The other delightful items at the patisserie include savouries like Cheese Corn patties, Chicken patties and more. A wide variety of house-baked breads and cookies are also available in takeaway boxes, which also make for great gifting options.
Chef Soumen Mukherjee has mastered the art of making the baklava and we watched him make the traditional dessert live.
Abhik Saha, one of the partners of Byepass Dhaba, says: “I named our new outlet after my grandmother, Hiiraan. The idea behind this patisserie was the high demand of bakery and confectionery items in the food chain, so we made this boutique bakery shop. Our products will be of high quality as every item will be baked in-house, in our own kitchen. Our motto is to serve our customers five-star quality food but in a reasonable price.”
A wide range of in-house baked breads like multi-grain bread, masala bread, milk bread, cheese bread sticks and more are available.
