This holiday season, relish an array of slow-cooked and roasted duck preparations at Oriental Duck Festival in all Chowman dine-in outlets across Kolkata. In its 13th edition, the month-long festival is offering 21 dishes on the menu, including Whole Roasted Duck! My Kolkata picks a few must-try duck delights

Start with a bowl of hot and hearty Duck Meat Noodle Soup. This non-spicy clear soup has glass noodles, succulent dusk meat, shitake mushrooms and pakchoi
For starters, you’ll be spoilt for choices. Go for juicy Duck Meat Momo served with hot garlic sauce or (below) fluffy Bao buns stuffed with sweet and savoury roasted sliced duck
Try a classic Peking Duck with scallions, cucumber, pancakes and BBQ sauce. For a peppery kick, order (below) Hot Pepper-Roasted Duck seasoned with the flavours of crushed black pepper
If you love south Asian flavours, succulent Vietnamese-style Chilli Roasted Duck glazed with spicy chilli sauce and cooked in coconut milk should be your pick. Or, you can opt for the (below) Mongolian Style Roasted Chilli Duck tossed in a spicy mix of sauces, garnished with dry chillies and chopped coriander
There are three options in rice and noodles. There is Kolkata Style Duck Meat Rice — a traditional and flavourful fried rice flavoured with soya sauce and tossed with duck meat and shrimp. Lovers of rice noodles can have the Thai-style Duck Meat Meifoon tossed with flavourful and aromatic Thai spices, or you can go for the (below) Butter Chilli Garlic Duck Meat & Egg Noodles
Pair up your choice of rice and noodles with mains like Hangzhou Style Roasted Duck where the tender roasted duck is tossed with celery in black bean sauce. For a sweet and spicy combination, the (below) Roasted Duck in Chilli Plum Sauce is the best choice
Also on the menu for mains are Spicy Schezwan Style Roasted Duck, which has flavours of fiery Schezwan pepper and a chef’s special sauce, and (below) Sliced Duck in Black Bean Sauce
The festival menu brings together Asian culinary techniques with innovative twists. Speaking about the Duck festival, Debaditya Chaudhury, managing director of the Chowman chain of restaurants said: ‘The Oriental Duck Festival has become an integral part of Chowman’s culinary calendar. Every year, we push boundaries to create something truly special. This year, our chefs have gone all out, presenting an unmatched variety of dishes like Whole Duck and Peking Duck that celebrate the versatility of duck meat’
The menu is also available for home delivery through Swiggy, Zomato and Chowman app. The festival is ongoing at outlets in Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad.
