As the restaurant chain completes 95 glorious years, is launching a delectable new menu with ample variety, while also retaining old favourites. The new menu brings in some fusion flavours, and some dishes that also expand the vast repertoire of Awadhi cuisine. The menu launches on October 1 across all outlets except Esplanade. t2 got a sneak peek.
Mutton Hyderabadi Biryani
Expanding further away from the Calcutta biryani is this spicy Hyderabadi biryani that has aromatic spices, kewra water and fried onions. The mutton is succulent and the rice bears a rich aroma of the spices.
(up) Mutton Khada Masala, (down) Fish Seekh Kebab Masala
The term khada masala stands for whole spices, and this fragrant mutton curry has browned onions, ginger, garlic as the base, perfumed with whole spices such as cardamom, mace, cloves, dry red chillies, whole peppercorns among others.
There's something for everyone on the menu, and this dish surely caught our eye for its unique combination of fish seekh kebabs cooked in a masaledaar gravy. Goes great with breads of choice.
(up) Lebanese Chicken, (down) Tandoori Prawns
Lebanese Chicken: This kebab draws in the subtle taste of Middle Eastern spices such as sumac and zaatar in a yoghurt marination and is a good amalgamation of Indian and Lebanese flavour profiles.
Tandoori Prawns: Seafood lovers now have a variety of options on the menu, and one such simple, effective and popular fave is this juicy prawn grilled in a spicy tandoori marinade. We love!
