Romaania, the pretty cafe-bar on Elgin Road offering a brilliant view of the Calcutta skyline, has something new for its patrons. They have rolled out a brand new Mediterranean festival menu comprising some classic dishes like Fattoush, Batata Harra, Ful Medames, Grilled Zatar Chicken, Shish Tawook and more. The limited-time festival has a concise menu that is light on the palate, non-oily and nutritious, something that you need on sultry summer days.

The concept of the menu came from the idea of wanting to offer something new for regular guests at the cafe. “Since we are so well-positioned, we get a lot of regular guests who are from colleges or parents who visit after dropping their kids to school. For them we thought of including something yummy and nutritious and what better than Mediterranean cuisine that is perfectly balanced,” said Jyoti Agarwal, co-owner Romaania.

t2 dropped by to try the new menu and here’s what we liked.

Batata Harra, one of the most popular Mediterranean dishes, has found a spot on the menu. The cubed and deep-fried potato cubes had the perfect tanginess and crispiness, to be relished with a garlic dip, making it absolutely flavourful.
