Known for tapas-style small plates and bar bites and a fab music scene, AMPM on Park Street has garnered a fan following within less than a year of opening doors. To keep in mind patron preferences and choices, like in the traditional clubs of Calcutta, AMPM has now come up with a new menu that is tailored to draw in Calcutta’s gourmets and it includes a number of vegetarian choices in tapas, sushi and dim sums, including gluten-free options, and a few new sections, such as AMPM’s signature Chips and Ramens and Broths. The new menu also brings in more open toasts, sandwiches and desserts that can be paired with AMPM’s signature Ngarum coffee.“Since we launched AMPM Kolkata in June last year, it has grown to become one of the city’s best cocktail bars, a space where Calcutta’s varied and cosmopolitan audience comes together for great drinks and great music. Our food has always been curated to go with the concept of a cocktail and tapas bar. With the introduction of the new menu this year, we’ve sought to strike a balance between crowd favourites from the past and a diverse spectrum of new additions for guests to choose from, taking the best of our brand’s signature dishes from our menu in AMPM Gurgaon, introducing more vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options for our guests, who come with diverse and globally-informed tastes and palates,” said Rajan Sethi, managing director, Bright Hospitality.“AMPM Calcutta’s menu features a well-thought-out selection of food that fuses Indian, European and Asian culinary techniques and flavours. Crafted as a premium dining menu for the daytime and a tapas-forward menu for late hours, our cuisine isn’t limited to traditions, techniques or bookish methods — it draws inspiration from cultures from across the world and reflects the wonders of a diverse team working on it, free of inhibitions,” said Divyanshu Ganguly, corporate chef, Brand AMPM. t2 walked in for a tasting.
Napa Wrapped Chicken and Chilli Oil Dim Sum: These make a hearty gluten-free option as the juicy chicken filling is wrapped in crispy napa cabbage petals and served on a bed of hot chilli based sauce.
Tori Chashu Shoyu Ramen: Ramen bowls are a new addition on the menu. This one has chicken chashu, which is basically a spin-off of regular pork chashu or braised pork belly, shoyu tare (a special ramen flavouring sauce from the Tonkotsu region in Japan), snow peas, six-min soy-soaked egg, and wakame, a kind of kelp.
Banaras Jackfruit Tacos: Not only is this a gluten-free option, but a vegan one too. Zesty jackfruit filling is topped with caramelised onion, spicy guacamole and garlic chutney.
Lotus Biscoff Creme Caramel: The good old creme caramel gets a flavour switch with the addition of the viral biscoff syrup that adds a nutty taste to it.
