Ramani, Sushanta Sengupta and Aninda Palit, is 6 Ballygunge Place Multicuisine on NH6 highway. 6BP (as it is fondly called) has opened a top-notch multicuisine restaurant in Kolaghat, which means weekend drives to and fro to Mandarmani, Digha or work trips to Haldia has a new must-visit pit stop.

The decor of the sprawling 120-cover restaurant on the ground floor is kept mellow with neutral shades, vignettes of Calcutta skyline on the wall, and comfortable seating. "The decor is done by Rashmin Perla from Bangalore of Artisinal Studios. Our brief was simple, we wanted a place with pleasing colours to chill them down. We wanted to pay tribute by capturing the essence of Bengal," explained Ramani.

“I am someone who loves road trips across the country and we always felt that there weren’t enough decent eateries on the highway that one could take a break at for a meal. Hence we wanted to offer a good option on the highway where the food across three different cuisines are top-notch, with quick service time as people are in a hurry, with classy ambience for every guest and great value for money,” said S. Ramani, who recently drove down 5,200km from Calcutta-Madras-Mumbai-Calcutta.

Located 70km away from the city on the premises of IOCL Kolaghat petrol pump with ample parking (100 cars), the outlet is spread across two levels, indoor and outdoor, and serves popular dishes the the 6BP menu, as well as yummy South Indian food and all-time favourite North Indian specialities. There are dedicated menus for breakfast, lunch/dinner and high-tea to indulge in. “We plan to keep something special on Sundays too, like a delicacy of the day,” added Ramani.

The first-floor open-air space has a rustic feel with animal-themed walls, warm lighting and charpoys that give an elevated dhaba feel. There are ample fans to keep you cool. This zone has 44 covers
