The ladies of YFLO had a delightful gathering, titled ‘Elevate Your Review’ on July 14 at Craft Coffee’s Ballygunge Road outlet. YFLO not only gives opportunities to its members to network with each other and interact with great personalities but amidst the fun gatherings, it also gives a space to its members to where they feel safe to talk about different issues and themselves. One such event was ‘Elevate Your Review’ which started off with a thought-provoking discussion on the different forms of addiction one deals with and ways to overcome them. It was followed by a coffee, chocolate and cheese pairing session. With such diverse activities accommodated in the event, the YFLO members enjoyed an enriching evening along with their peers.

YFLO chairperson Priyanka Agarwal and Re-View group chair Nikita Bardia. “We embraced the theme of health and beauty by shedding light on managing addictions effectively. Members networked and discussed various addictions and how to deal with them. The insightful discussions were followed by a delightful session of pairing coffee, chocolate and cheese — a perfect blend of indulgence and wellness in one gathering,” said Priyanka Agarwal. “Being a coffee lover, this event was perfect for people like me. It was an extremely informative session. First, we spoke about addiction and how we can overcome it or help people deal with it. My favourite pairing was a unique one they asked us to try, it was crackers, with garlic cheese and strawberry compote,” said Nikita Bardia

The 30 members sitting at a long table shared their personal anecdotes and experiences related to the kinds of addictions they confront. The atmosphere was open and candid as the attendees spoke about their struggles with phone addiction, morning coffee habits, dietary choices, gym routines, and more. The discussion culminated in the conclusion that the way to move forward is to approach these situations with empathy and sensitivity toward others and one’s own self. Keeping the theme in mind, the members also discussed and reviewed two movies that have elements of addiction – The Wolf of Wall Street and A Star is Born.

To end the day on a light note, the ladies were joined by Abhinav Kumar, co-founder of Craft Coffee and Arpita Nag of Meraki Cheese, cheese partner of Craft Coffee, who curated a lively coffee, chocolate, and cheese pairing for the YFLO members. They started the session by introducing all the items on display and followed it up with a step by step guidance to the ladies to make the most delicious pairings. First, the coffee was paired with the in-house white and dark chocolate prepared by Craft Coffee. Next, they were presented with a delectable array of cheese and crackers to go along with their cold brew and cascara. The selection showcased a variety of flavours, ranging from mild and creamy to tangy. This was followed by a salad-making tutorial using the different cheeses that were paired with the coffee.
