As India took on New Zealand in the first knockout game, Kolkata pubs and eateries served the action live with sip & bite options

India is playing New Zealand in the first of the semi-final matches at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium today. After today’s match and tomorrow’s semi-final between Australia and South Africa at the Eden Gardens, the final ODI will take place on Sunday, November 19, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India was knocked out of the 2019 World Cup race in a thrilling match against New Zealand, making today’s match that much more interesting.

Groups of friends turned up to watch the match — this cricket fan could not keep his eyes off the screen, even as the table’s orders were being served — as the Indian cricket team (with Iyer and Kohli!) swung their sixes! The #DoosraStadium at Kolkata’s Park Street Social set up the screen on the live stage on the first floor, and people turned their chairs towards the screen to get a better view, cheering and clapping every time India batted well.
