Tour of Netaji museum on the freedom fighter’s 126th birth anniversary

Students of NSHM, Kendriya Vidyalaya Ballygunge, ILEAD and several institutions visited Netaji Bhavan in Kolkata

The 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated at Netaji Bhavan on January 23, 2023. Over 200 students from various schools and colleges took part in the programme hosted by India Tourism, an initiative of the Union ministry of tourism, along with Netaji Research Bureau and Yuva Tourism Club

Aishi Das, a second-year travel and tourism student from NSHM, said, “The museum has an excellent collection. We saw Netaji’s outfit and boots. We were very nostalgic. We had a well-preserved view of Netaji’s life and meetings in different countries etc. We witnessed live everything we read about Netaji in textbooks.’’

Sayak Nandi, assistant director, Ministry of Tourism, said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have launched Yuva Tourism Clubs in every state. Currently, about 10 schools and colleges are part of this initiative and students from here will be future representatives of the country in national and international forums. Tourism is a holistic subject and also includes cultural knowledge about Indian leaders like Netaji and spaces associated with them.’’
