Building on the theme of the legendary movie The Wizard of Oz and the iconic song Over The Rainbow, the Children’s Day fiesta at The Saturday Club saw kids aged up to 12 years, with their families and friends, set foot on the club lawns onto an almost life-sized set from the film, decorated with characters from the movie and colourful balloons everywhere. There was a party atmosphere with a DJ and foot-tapping music and as soon as the children entered they were invited to the stage to sing and dance, which they did with great energy.

Exciting activities for the children included Zipline, Fancy Dress Parade, Treasure Hunt, Pin the Heart on the Tin Man, Bowling on the Yellow Brick Road to name a few. There was delicious food, games and prizes galore.
This year, Saturday Club hosted children from SICW (Society For Indian Children’s Welfare), which resulted in a rewarding experience for the club members to see the joy on their faces as they danced on the stage with all the kids. “The Children’s Day party this year was themed very appropriately to invite attention and participation of our junior stars. Exciting activities, decorations, food stalls were in place, thanks to our entertainment subcommittee and the children spent a great afternoon. Looking at the children enjoying, the guardians were not wrong in hoping there should be an ‘adults’ day’ too where we could be taught how to get our innocence as well as the unending energy back! A short message to all children would be to enjoy to your fullest now as nothing ahead can be more enjoyable than this age,” said Shayak Gupta, president of The Saturday Club.
