Saaksha & Kinni presented by Corona, was a happy and hot seaside collection, full of colourful prints and zingy vibes. There was swimwear and resort wear, clashing prints and tassels. Sheers upped the oomph. The mood was easy-breezy and we loved the desi coolness of the embroidered jackets. “We love playing around with masculinity and femininity. It’s not every day that you associate jackets with swimwear. With swimwear being so elegant and feminine, we wanted to offset that with oversized, boyish masculinity,” said Saaksha Bhat, post-show.
A certain free-spiritedness wafted through the pieces. “The mood was supposed to be really upbeat, positive, just in a very Zen kind of a frame of mind, just to get back outdoors, to enjoy life again. Soak up all the colour and kick back and relax. The colours were ocean blue, sunshine yellows, grassland greens, earthy rusts... back to nature and celebrate the surroundings we live in,” she added.
Like the jackets, the footwear too was an eye-catcher. “We had beautiful, different-coloured sandals. We also wanted to do something a little crazy. So, we embroidered cuffs and added cuffs on top of the shoes. We added a bit of a fun element to it,” she signed off.
