THE MISSING LINK CELEBRATED THE LAUNCH OF ITS THIRD BENGALI ROCK ALBUM

The launch of The Missing Link’s third music album Ostitwo, in association with t2, was hosted at Boho Sky Cafe, Salt Lake on July 10. The Bangla rock band comprising Rudraneel Chowdhury (vocals), Avinandan Bhattacharya (vocals/guitar), Rudra Sarkar (guitar), Chirantan Das (bass) and Satyajit ‘Bittu’ Mukherjee (drums), had cut their first album Missing Link in 2004. They released their second album Kaktarua in 2008. Ostitwo tells a story of a musician’s existence. Songs like Joto mot toto poth and Onno porichoy speak about the life of a creator/ performer. Sorir chai, Biswasghatak, Louho kopat and Somprikto present many-hued reflections on personal and social concerns. Somprikto, a musical short, written and directed by Timir Biswas, was also released on the occasion. The first music video of the album, it is about a substance addict who falls in love with a motivational speaker at a rehabilitation centre. The fate of the addict is revealed at the end of the story. The launch programme was attended by many popular names of contemporary Bengali rock music including Cactus frontman Siddhartha Ray (Sidhu) and Chandrabindoo’s Upal Sengupta.
