Professionals from the fields of hospitality, entertainment and education graced the inauguration. “It is going to be a very good course for them. This is because they are going to learn the A-Z of a wedding. The wedding (industry) is growing like no other industry. So, I think if the students learn how to curate and what it is to be a wedding planner, they might come up with one stream which they can specialise in and make the most of it,” said draping artist Dolly Jain who attended the launch.

“With this growing business becoming a topic of discussion, I have realised that so many of us are getting added with each passing year... there are many players but not many coaches. We already have courses dedicated to creating them, then why not start adding value from day one? So, we did research, made the syllabus and looked out for faculties and guest faculties. Today events or weddings are not just limited to 20 per cent of India. The opportunities have grown very big and there are so many businesses in one business of events. So, why not create history by opening the first school exclusively dedicated to this. It is the only event school in India, which is a certified course, has 11 months of detailing, backed by a college and crafted by an event planner,” said Preraana Khuller, dean, The Bhawanipur School of Event Management.

“I think the event management industry and its education is in demand today. There are a lot of events that are happening. The events now are much bigger with higher stakes. Therefore, I think it is time for students to take interest in this. We ourselves do a lot of events and the students get an opportunity. I can see the transformation through their confidence that the students have developed because of taking responsibilities and handling events,” said Dilip Shah, dean, Bhawanipur Education Society College.
