Innovation on the ramp and surprise in the spectacle go hand in hand with the label Abhishek Dutta. And his recent fall-winter’23 showcase at Bishnu Bijoli Garden was no exception to this where he sent out Sierras. Cutouts of a mountainous landscape formed the backdrop for this nature-inspired collection, and cyber dogs on the ramp added to the surprise element. The show was a blend of sustainability, innovation, fashion, creativity and technology that featured structured silhouettes. The asymmetry, cutouts, prints, embroideries and colour palette resembled the mountain terrain. Shades of brown, yellow, black, white, greys, blues and greens came together on Western and Indo-western garments, highlighted with intricate work. The collection also sent out a message about global warming. Glimpses.

Neeraj Surana channelled the classic black-and-white for the final sequence. On Neeraj, a leather lapel jacket with a hair-on collar.

Priyanka Das walked in a coordinated custom-printed pantsuit, highlighted with a contrast panel and leather detailing. The robodog’s movements on the head ramp added to the drama.

We loved Bhaskar Biswas’ hairstyling on Sakshi Nandi with a bunch of clips in this look, enhancing the cutaway-sleeved embroidered lapel jacket teamed with a textured corset and a pair of wide-legged pants.

“Bishnu Bijoli Garden is a venue that aims to provide a truly distinctive space for the people of Calcutta to host a multitude of events. Which is why we were delighted to host our inaugural fashion event with Abhishek Dutta, where he unveiled his innovative fall-winter collection, merging fashion and technology to break conventional boundaries,” said Bidisha Roy and Aritra Roy, partners, Bishnu Bijoli Garden.
