Each time you see a tiger the excitement is such as if you are seeing it for the first time. I started my stint with tigers when I was six years old; I was mesmerised by the sight. I still have strong memories of the moment. Over the years I have started taking the passion more seriously and we do a lot of work on tiger conversation and also towards restoration of mangroves in the Sundarbans," said t2 columnist Shiladitya who has captured the beasts in Sanjay Dubri National Park and Tiger Reserve, Kaziranga National Park and others.

The 50 photographs displayed at Welcom Art Gallery in ITC Sonar were not just moments of the majestic striped beast captured on camera but were also the testimony of the passion that wildlife photographers Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Shiladitya Chaudhury and Ketan Sengupta have for the wild. Each frame was also not just another moment zooming in on the life of a tiger but carried stories that make life worthwhile for the man behind the lens and their dedication as well. Their exhibition, Striped In Love, treated all to the beauty of the tiger captured in different parts of the country and in different wildlife sanctuaries and parks. The display was also a resounding roar of Project Tiger that completed 50 years and is known for creating awareness in conserving and providing the right habitat for the national animal of the country. Curated by Korak Basu, the launch event on February 14, of the three-day exhibition, saw a mixed crowd marking their presence. Snapshots...
