Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School by Ektara in Topsia had special guests on Saturday afternoon — DJs Armin van Buuren and Laura van Dam. Ahead of their gig at Croma Sunburn Arena presented by Absolut, in partnership with Rhythmbox and in association with t2, the duo dropped in to check out the place that was founded in December 2022. It aims to reach out to 1,000 children with facilities for arts, music, dance, photography, animation, theatre and other forms of art.
“The organisation’s primary goal is to provide high-quality learning opportunities to these individuals, ensuring they have access to education, capacity-building initiatives, and the opportunity to lead empowered lives with dignity,” said Namrata Sureka, who founded Ektara with Vinita Saraf. The vision was to transform vulnerable communities through education.
Armin, who reached the venue around 2pm, spent close to two hours interacting with the kids and teachers, leaving them impressed. “This is a very emotional feeling; it's very impressive to see what these people are doing,” he said.
Armin was welcomed by a beautiful dance performance by the students leaving Armin mighty impressed who thanked them with a namaste.
Armin checked out the "Steam lab" that acts as an exposure space for science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths, enabling children to learn through various activities and experiments. The lab activities are synced with the grade 5-7 curriculum.
