While DJ Sami warmed up everyone for a rumbunctious Seagram’s 100 Pipers Glassware True Legend presents The Telegraph X-Mas Eve at The Saturday Club, the official party began at 10pm when singer Sukhwinder Singh went up on stage. Like honeybees, party peeps and fans of the Academy Award and Grammy-winning singer swarmed the dance floor adjacent to the stage and immersed in the vibe exuded by the singer. His entourage included talented singer Madhvi Shrivastav and guitarists who were exceptional in their skills and who elevated Singh’s performance.
Wearing a brown leather jacket, as a true stage performer, Sukhwinder Singh connected with the audience and belted out one song after another, making everyone sway, hum and record the act for social media. Singh has sung a number of hits starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan and he started off the performance with Chaiya chaiya, with the music video playing on the giant screen, and then went on to sing Haule haule and Marjaani. Taal se taal mila, Jai ho, Dhan te nan and others made the evening melodious. The star performer, who performed past midnight, also did a fun catwalk with a few attendees on the stage to the song Jalwa from the film Fashion.
Post the Christmas countdown Sukhwinder reappeared on the stage in a new avatar and continued till 1am
President Shayak Gupta was ecstatic about the big turnout and the gleeful vibe of his club members. He said, “The day we zeroed in on Sukhwinder we knew it would be a hit and he truly made our Christmas Eve celebrations a memorable one with his songs, his humble nature and his charm. There were challenges as we did not have a very big ground in comparison to other clubs, plus managing so many people is a big task but I am glad members and guests enjoyed themselves.”
